What Causes Throat Pain And Acidity While Having COPD?
I had some really hot soup with a thin broth and a small piece of chicken. I tried to swallow it and my throat closed but some broth had gone through. The soup sat on the back of my throat and esophagus because I couldn't swallow. I finally threw my head forward and got it out. Now it feels like strep throat and I felt the acid come up when I burped. Which I keep doing cuz I m swallowing air all the time. How long will it take for it to stop? I take nexium but I ran out, that's why the acid . How long will the burn last? This is the worst pain you can imagine when I swallow. I have copd so I get fluid. This is not good. But I really dont want to go to er. What should I do? I eat. Soup and no spice. ....now
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of throat pain and acidity while having COPD which is due to upper respiratory tract infection and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take anti-inflammatory medications such as Tylenol or Motrin may help reduce any infection. Visit ENT specialist once and get some routine blood investigation done. Go for proper examination and then start treatment accordingly. You should avoid intake of large meals at a time and start taking small meals. Avoid extreme spicy and salty food. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Take combination of antihistamine and oral antibiotic such as Bactoclav for 3 days.Gargle warm saline rinses as well as do betadine gargles. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
