What Causes Throat Pain After Taking Pepcid?

I have been taken Pepcid 10mg 4 years for acid reflux. One month ago I started having muscle reactions and spasms in throat. Dr. said to stop. I am lost as to what to take to keep the acid down. I just tried Zantac. Not good. I tried several PPI meds and they did not agree with me. Help??? YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

You need to change little bit of your life style. First of all make sure you keep your head side of bed raise at least six inches so that the acid will not regurgite to your esophagus during night.

Avoid late night foods and alcohol, avoid smoking if you are one. Don't keep your stomach empty for too much time, avoid spicy and junk foods and heavy fatty foods.

Do some regular exercise daily and take vegetables and fruits and avoid too much meat. If you do above mentioned things you will be able to contain your acid, also get a H pylori test done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
