What Causes Throat Discomfort While Swallowing?

I have been experiencing the sensation of food getting stuck in my throat when I swallow. Over the last several days it has gotten much more painful and I am feeling pain in my chest. I have been being treated for acid reflux disease for a number of years and am taking Omeprazole to control it and there have never been issues till now. Should I be concerned?

Hello welcome to the health care magic

Yes You should concern regarding your case.

Your posterior pharynx examination and indirect laryngoscopy examination should be done as per my opinion.

Mostly it will be pharyngitis for which you can be prescribed decongestant course and antibiotic course If needed.

Take one tsp turmeric powder with milk daily.

Diluted betardine gargle also useful

Avoid excess spicy foods

If no improvement than x ray and further work up planned

Consult physician or otorhinolaryngologist for examination and discuss your case
