Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Thinning Of Hair After Taking Botox Injection?
I started Botox injections & a new type of the first anti-breakage perm during the same time, several years ago. I ve notice significant hair thinning/loss especially in the front, top & sides of my head. Each time I get the Botox my hair would start shedding in those areas but I was also getting perm retouches during that time. So, I waited 10 months before getting the Botox during this time my hair was growing & beginning to look healthy. I got the injections after 10 months & the hair started shedding again. Could it be the perm? If so, do I need to go back to the milder perm I was previously using or go natural? Please help!!!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
As per the presentation depicted by you, it is clear that botox is responsible for the hair damage. You should certainly change to milder form if that helps.
Meanwhile, you may take hair friendly vitamins that include Biotin, Vit A, C & E. Along with that, do take healthy diet and protect your hair from direct sunlight and pollution.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Maninder, General & Family Physician
