What Causes The Smell Of Blood In Breath?
Hi. My breath suddenly smelled like blood. I didn t cough out blood and there is no visible blood that be seen. I ve recently quit smoking, its been 2 months. I have been coughing badly last few weeks and there was some hard chunks of phlegm coming out.

If sputum coughed out is not blood stained, it is unlikely to be significant. But a bad bronchitis can also cause foul / odd smelling sputum. Since productive cough is there for few weeks, kindly see your doctor for evaluation and antibiotic treatment.
Also, any prolonged cough in a person with chronic smoking warrants prompt evaluation.
