What Causes The Skin Tone Turned Dark?

I am an Indian and had a fair skin. Due to sunlight exposure it became a bit dark. When I reached SAudi Arabia, I was remained in office all throughout the day and it turned my skin white. But after my first vacation once I drove a car with a damaged A/C when the outside temperature was 45 degree above. When I switched the A/C on, only hot air was coming but I had no other choice and I kept it like that. The next day my friends said my skin tone has gone darker than usual, especially around the area starting from the sides of my eyes throughout my forehead. Now it is there for more than 2.5years so and it takes my confidence away. I am not sure whether it was due to my that mentioned driving in hot sun or what. But I am so worried about it. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand that you are concerned about your skin tone.

From your history, I would consider delayed tanning as a cause of your pigmentation. Tanning occurs due to prolonged sun exposure especially in Indian skin. Hot air is not responsible for tanning and it is due to the UV rays exposure. Even if you travel with a cool AC on, the UV rays which penetrate through the car's window can cause tanning.

You could use the following suggestions-
1. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen every 4 hours. Apply even in cloudy weather and even inside the car.

2. Use a facewash containing glycolic acid as this will exfoliate the skin.

3. at bedtime, use a cream containing kojic acid, liquorice, arbutin and tetrahydrocoumarin as a lightening agent to lighten the skin tone.

4. You could get a few sessions of glycolic acid/ retinol based peels done by a dermatologist.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
