What Causes The Sclera To Turn Into A Jelly Like Substance?

My sons eye (the sclera) mysteriously turned to a jelly like substance after he took a bath. I'm putting on cucumber but it only helps for the welling. I put some sulphacetamide oitment in but it still appear like a fish-like eye. Do I take him to the ER or wait till morning. Thank you Hendrina Pirvu

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, I'am Dr Suresh K Yadav , MD (paediatrics), I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

It looks like allergic reaction , you need put some anti allergic drop like andre (Chlorphermine) eye drop , but I think you need to take him to ER to rule out some serious issue , meanwhile wash eyes with plenty of clean water . Some oral anti allergic medicine like cetrizine can also be given .

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions

Take care.
