My dermatologist says I have DSAP. It s so unattractive but there is nothing he can do to improve it.... I m going to the beach but cant even wear a sundress bc the spots look like leprosy or something. Please tell me that there are effective treatments.... Frustrated & sad :(
DSAP mainly affects the lower arms and legs.It more frequently on the lower legs. DSAP never occurs on the scalp, palms or soles. It is more prominent in the summer and less prominent in winter. Diagnosis of DSAP : 1. Dermatoscopy 2. Skin Biopsy Treatment : Unfortunately there is no very satisfactory treatment for DSAP. Treatment used are - 1. Moisturizing lotions 2. Liqyified nitrogen 3. Imiquimode cream 4. Tretin cream 5. Diclofenac gel
LEPROSY : In leprosy patient have dry hypopigmented lesions with decreased sensations with enlarged peripheral nerves of arm amd leg. For diagnosis of leprosy : 1. Split skin smear 2. Skin biopsy
