What Causes The Outbreak Of Hives On The Legs?

Hello there, over the past few weeks my legs have been breaking out at hives. It only happens at night and at first it was only on the tops of my thighs, but now it s my whole thigh and down to my ankles as well. The bedding has changed, as I ve had to change bedrooms due to extenuating circumstances, but even then it doesn t happen in the morning. The only trigger that I ve noticed has been goosebumps, but like I said, it only happens at night.

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

Sudden onset of hives lasting less than 6 weeks is called as acute urticaria.

Some well known triggers are new foods, food preservatives and colorants, drugs, ifections like sore throat or viral fever, infestations like worm infestations and contact allergens. In many cases, it is not possible to find a trigger. It will spontaneously disappear in a few weeks time.

You could take Benadryl tablet at bedtime for symptomatic relief for 1- 2 weeks. Try to look for the above mentioned triggers and avoid them.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
