What Causes The Fluctuation In The Blood Sugar Level?

I am a prediabetic since year 2000. three months back from now, my PP BS level was at 180 and fsting BS was at 120. I was advised to take dionel semi once in the morning. after a month the PPBS came down to 130 but Fasting BS continued to remain 120. Recently the Fasting BS was tested to 142 and PPBS went upto 180 again(what was at three months ago). Is the medication going in the wrong way. my age :47, Height:5'7", BW:65Kg

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

The sugar level you have mentioned are higher than normal. But you have mentioned only one sugar level. That could some times happen based on food taken that day or physical activity.

If that is more in more than two occasions, check HbA1c value which gives sugar value of last 3 months. If that is higher, then you need either increase of dose of present medication or addition of new drug to the present medication
discussing with treating doctor.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.
