What Causes The Feeling Of Having Bugs Under The Skin?

My mother claims she has bugs and is pulling skin off her arms and legs and now is using tweezers to dig the bugs out of the sores and her ears. She has had 4 biopsies to prove their are no bugs she does not believe them. Now is trying to say my Dad has bugs and saying bugs are in her food and her stools are just bugs coming out of her. Her dr knows there is a problem and wants to help her but my mom refuses to believe she has a mental problem and believes we all do because we do not see the bugs. How do we get here help when she refuses help.

Hi,

Your mom has the delusion of parasitosis most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. It is an obsessive-compulsive disorder. You may also take advice of psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
