What Causes The Child To Hold Breath While Crying?

HI... THIS IS SHITAL... I HAV A SON OF AGE 1 YEAR 2 MONTHS... SOMETIME INFACT TILL NOW 2 TIMES. WHAT HAPND IS.. WHILE CRYING HE WILL HOLD HIS BREATH.. & HE WIL TURN INTO COMPLETELY TURN BLACKK.. & AFTER WORDS HIS COMPLETE BODY WILL BE STIFF.. WHAT I HAV DONE IS.. HAD PORED WATER ON HIM.. & PUSHED IS HEART.. SO THEN HE WAS NORMAL.. SO WANTED TO KNOW IS Y HE DOES LIKE THIS??? PLEASE HELP..

This is called breath holding spells, and is not to be worried much. But consult a pediatrician for confirming the diagnosis with a more detailed history and also we need to rule out anemia.
