What Causes Testicular Pain After Having Sex?

My boyfriend and I have only been sexually active for a week now. He is experiencing pain in his right testicle when he walks and coughs. We use protection with every sexual encounter and he has only been complaining for about to days now. He is an athlete ejo plays many sports: football and basketball especially. I am thinking he may have gotten injured. Or could this be something more severe?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Experiencing pain after having sexual activity could be due to mechanical factors.
However, since he is complaining of it often and it is more while walking and coughing, it would be better to rule out 'varicocele'.
Kindly get an ultrasound scan of the scrotum to look for what could be the reason for this.
In the meantime, he can take Tablet.Ibuprofen 400mg after food for control of pain. Let him drink good quantities of water.
Consult Surgeon with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
