What Causes Testicular Discomfort While On Ketoconazole?

My husband has been on Ketoconazole 200mg 1 po daily for 5 days now and just today has noticed some testicular discomfort. I do not see it has one of the side effects but notice it can cause a lot of other side effects that could be related. What is your opinion? I feel he needs to stop medication.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you mentioned, it is not one of the noted side effects of Ketoconazole, though persons react differently to medications.

All medications, including herbal ones, have potential side effects that may or may not occur. He may not have any of the possible effects of the Ketoconazole.

It would be best for him to be seen by his doctor to determine the exact cause of the discomfort.

I hope this helps.
