What Causes Tenderness On Right Side Of Waist?

Thank you. I have tenderness on my right side at waist right below rib cage. Just feels a little sore. I am 48 yrs old, female, 5' 5" and 195 lbs. This has been for a few months, not debilitating. /since I am overweigh I can not feel if there are any lymph nodes swollen although that is what the pain feels like. The tenderness feels similar to swollen lymph nodes in the neck when you have a sore throat for example.

Thanks for posting your query on HCM!
I appreciate your concern. Do you get the pain worsen after having fatty meal, or is it associated with nausea vomiting, etc,?
I am of the opinion that considering your age, body weight this problem could be due to gall bladder disease.
Get the ultrasound done and consult the doctor for further evaluation and treatment.
