What Causes Tenderness In The Testicle With Scrotum Swelling?

59 year old male. Have experienced a swelling of my scrotum in the past 4-5 days with tenderness mostly in my left testicle. Swelling has diminished somewhat in the last 24 hrs and tenderness is lessened to about 50% of where it was. Taking Aleve helps. No fevers, or other illnesses. Had completed a room renovation last week that included moving furniture, and replacing carpet with hardwood - lots of bending, lifting, working from knees, etc. Otherwise in very good health. Any thought / diagnosis? should I see a doctor? Email: YYYY@YYYY

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the scrotum swelling then it needs to be ruled out for hydrocele and for that it is better to see the urologist, second it could be epididymitis, or orchitis, and it can be managed with Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day, if this the infection then antibiotic can be tried hope this information helps.
