The pain in the testicle can be due to infection that has spread from the urethra or bladder in a retrograde manner to cause epididymo-orchitis.
Please get ultrasonography and color doppler of the scrotum and the abdomen.
Urine culture and sensitivity.
Get a proper course of an antibiotic and you will be fine.
Apply scrotal support.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Post- Catherization Urethritis with Epididymitis / Orchitis causing sore testes in your case.
Laparascopy as such has no causative role, but the accompanying catheterization with burning / stinging urination is caused during laparascopic post -surgery stay in hospital.
Proper treatment of this infection needs second opinion from Urologist.
As this condition needs evaluation of prostatitis / urethritis / epididymitis and its special long term antibiotic /Pyridium / Tamsulosin treatments for long term remissions,which is a difficult task to achieve in your case.
USG / CT study of the prostate/epididymis / and Contrast CT study and urethrography would be needed to assess and treat the afflictions accordingly.
Second Opinion from Urologist would resolve this confusion in your mind,as the prolonged pain is causing worry and anxiety to You,which is but natural and I can understand your concerns for it.
