What Causes Tenderness In The Breast Post Trauma?

I was in a car accident on December 31st and my airbags deployed. I had a pretty large, deep purple and red bruise on my breast. The coloring from the bruise is gone, but the area is still tender in the deep part of my breast tissue. Is this serious, or because of the type of trauma is it reasonable that it would take longer to heal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having hrematoma and some breast tissue damage.
This will take some time for healing and absorption of blood from affected part..
There is another possibility of having some linear fracture in rib producing tenderness on the part.
In such case if problem persisted then go for x-ray chest to rule out fracture.
Apply ice pack and analgesic cream to get relief.
Okand take care.
