What Causes Tenderness And Swelling On Head After A Injury?

I bumped just to the left side / close toward the front of my head a few hours ago. No cut skin, no bleeding, no discoloration on the skin. Just some tenderness and and slight noticeable swelling, a subtle small bump. I also feel, rather oddly, a little sensitivity behind the Opposite side, the right, eye. I m asking why do I feel this on the opposite eye and should I worry? I have put ice on for short while and will do some again soon. thanks so much for your feedback.

Hello. Your swelling may be the result of subcutaneous bleeding which may be self limiting. The opposite eye should not usually have symptoms. However, it is better if you watch how the symptoms progress and whether there is any change in the vision or blurring. Other symptoms like dizziness, nausea and vomiting may signal some amount of internal injury which needs to be evaluated with a CT scan. Hope this helps.
