What Causes Tailbone Pain Post Hysterectomy?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy in January of this year and developed tailbone pain a few weeks after. 8 months later and it has only gotten worse whether I am lying down or sitting. I use a special cushion at work designed for the tailbone and it hasn t helped any. What could be the cause of this and could it have anything to do with my surgery?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

No, it has nothing to do with your surgery and the spinal anesthesia which might have been given.

It must be muscular pain and inflammation due to bad posturing. You can use NSAID s like Advil for relief of pain and inflammation. Apply heat and avoid continuous sitting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
