What Causes Symptoms Of Alzheimers Disease While Taking Halcion?

I had surgeries when I was much younger with halothane as the anesthetic. --twice in 1 week - one shorter one and a few days later a 9 hour one . Then I was in a coma for about 2 weeks. I seem to have gotten over it mostly. About 2+ yrs ago I was given an injection of halcion? or Haldol? I had immediate problems with memory, hallucinations ,problems walking, etc, etc. My problems got somewhat better, but then gradually much worse. Memory, talking, getting my words right, much of the symptoms of alzheimers. I was told I had it when I went back to the doctor after I got out of the hospital. He had given me several different medications when I got out. I was having a slew of side effects so I went to see his wife (same office - long story) I went with a list of meds compared to the side effects and she told me that I couldn t have it and still be able to make that detailed of a list. Anyway, I am to see a neurologist soon and just wanted to know whether I should mention the injection. Sorry to be so confusing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is crucial to give as accurate as possible history to the doctor; no matter how trivial, complex or unimportant details you assume it to be it will be helpful in making diagnosis. In your case, the use of halodol injection in past is important part of your medical history. This may not just help the neurologist understand the underlying cause, but also be of help in deciding the treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
