What Causes Swollen Vein/artery In Hand?

I have a swollen vein/artery in the palm of my left hand-has a pulse, is enlarged and painful. has grown (over the past 5 months) Primary says its just a small clot to leave it alone, but is now more painful with pain up my arm too and has grown. any ideas?

It could be an Arterio-venous malformation or a small aneurysm. You can get an Ultrasound done of the affected hand and forearm to confirm. Has the hand become bigger than the opposite side or any episode of bleeding? Is it warm to touch? These would be signs of an AV malformation.
