What Causes Swollen Toes With Black Spots On Ankles And Toes?

Sir, My problems are: 1. Several black spots on both ankle and even on the leg fingers. 2. Toes becomes puffy [seems like water is there] 3. Feeling pain while walking speedily. I am male, 38 years of age, fatty, walk very little, most of the time on my desk, avoid junk food, smoke around 2 pkts a day. Previously i was taking Aquazide tablet once in a day. results were satisfactory but over the time this medicine is not working properly. So I stopped. Few doctors are saying that it is varicose vein problem while few are saying that it is Edema. i am totally confused. Please suggest any remedy if any. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you seem to be suffering from pedal edema and that too may be dependent because of limited activity and prolong hanging.

You need to raise your feet while lying down and if still the symptoms persist then get your blood and urine tests like serum albumin levels and urine examination for proteinurea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
