What Causes Swollen Supraclavicular Lymph Node?

I have had a pea sized lymph node nodule for over 7 months - supraclavicular - left side - moveable A cat scan was ordered by my PC Physician. I was referred to my ENT who has scheduled removal under general anesthesia on Sept 2nd. I am a 62 year old college professor and have done the usual online digging. I have had no infections to my knowledge and at my age I cannot be sure if night sweats can be attributed to menopause or this condition. I have started to have stiffness on this side of my neck. My surgeon has told me he will use nerve stimulators to avoid damage while I am under and small bore needle to limit what he referred to, I believe, as tracking (liberation of cancer cells if this is in fact cancerous) Wondering about the statistics associated with my symptoms and rather advanced age group

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Very good study you have.
If the lump has been stationary for 7 months it is not likely to be cancer in the first place.
Secondly, it is mobile- again against cancer.
Night sweats may be attributed to the menopause or may have other reasons, surely no related to mobile cervical lump/s.
Well, as it is already decided, get the biopsy done and do not worry.
Many times they just present as hyperplastic lymph nodes not regressing and are not to be taken that seriously.
