What Causes Swollen Purple Rashes On The Body After Mosquito Bite?
Hi,
I was outside 3 nights ago and was bitten by lots of gnats/mosquitoes (25 times to be exact). I woke up the next morning and the bites were quite normal however began getting much bigger and more red, and a lot itchier. The next day they were even worse and today they the swelling has gone down but now they are flat and a purple colour. They have a red dots on them and look quite blotchy. One of them has a red line across it. I'm just not really sure whether they are just healing or it is something more than that.

Mosquito bite induces allergic reaction in the body. Allergies occur when your immune system reacts to a foreign body. Foreign body may medicine like pollen, animal dander, dust and insect venom etc. mosquito are known to transmit Dengue, malaria, filarial and chikungunya fever.
Advice
1. Levocetirizine5 mg – 1 tablet per oral once daily for 3 days
2. Do not scratch too much as it will caused skin damage and infection
3. Calamine lotion – three times daily locally
4. Use insect repellent such Odomos cream or use mosquito net
5. Avoid sleeping outdoor
