What Causes Swollen Perineum?

Hi i am a 20 yr old male and my perineum area has been swollen. Im not sure for how long but my wife has just noticed it. We have been having a lot of intercourse over the past week. It sorta burns after i urinate but thats all. And i was constipated but now i have diarrhea. Not sure if it is all connected or not. Please get back to me for my wife and i are both worried. Thank you

Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, one can differentiate between problems INSIDE and outside. and with only outside it would be local irritation. Inside, it is hard to say.

Sometimes an autoimmune disease of the bowel (CHrohn's) can do this and the diarrhea would be quite bad with that. More commonly regular diarrhea gets the area moist and yeast grows, but that would be outside, again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
