I have a swollen middle finger of right hand. I have had it MRI d, xrayed, injected with steroids, operated on to have tissue removed and cultures grown. It has no infection, no arthritis (according to blood test), no fungus (according to today s lab report). It did respond to antibiotics for about a month, then came back. It responded to injection for a month then returned. I am seeing an infectious disease doctor again Thursday. I keep it bandaged up so I don t keep bumping it, but very annoying siutation. It has been six months so far. I have seen eight doctors. Sometimes it turns a bluish color or purpleish color. In the morning it almost looks normal but during the day it will swell and living in this heat, it swells more often. I remember gardening one day and pulling weeds and the next day the finger swelled up. I always thought it was a tropical disease )I live in Florida). Someone said I need heavy duty antibiotic treatment to knock it out.
