What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes On Both Sides Of Back Of Head?

Hello
I noticed my pre-teen son had swollen auricular lymph nodes approx. 4 months ago on both sides of the back of his skull. Upon the doctors advice I watched and waited. He has since developed swollen Occipital on the left side of his head. They are fixed in place, non painful and hard as rocks. I have also seen an oily substance on the top of his urine. Is there any connection? I take him again to see a nurse practitioner today, but have little faith in this person. I don't want to waste unnecessary time or questions. Should I be concerned with the above mentioned? Is there a connection between them?
Thank you

thank your user for your query.
Swollen lymph nodes are also termed as lymphadenopathy. There are various causes of lymphadenopathy namely, tonsillitis, ear infection, cold, flu, gingivitis, mononucleosis, tuberculosis etc. Since your son`s nodes are hard, fixed so all you have to do is to get the lymph node biopsy done. Along with that liver function test, kidney function test, CBC, Chest x-ray, Liver-spleen scan is also indicated.
