What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes After Intercourse?

Hi Doctor, I had risky exposure with a girl who s history I don t know. I had a little sore throat on day 13, mild fever for few hours on day 14 also mild swollen lymph nodes. Two days of mild night sweats (one day maybe because of heating). I have acute anxiety because of that incident. I took a combo test ( hiv1 / 2 & p24) on days 10 and 24, both are negative. Pcr rna test on day 10 which is also negative. Can you please tell me what your diagnosis based on the results so far. I am really worried. I lost sleep since that day. I would really appreciate any help here.

Thanks for your query, Please be calm, what ever you have would only get worse and not better if you panic. Please do not jump to a conclusion that you have contacted HIV as a first option. There can be other viral infection that you may have contacted because of the "exposure" or it may be independent of that. Best for you would be to visit a doctor who would examine you and would be in a better position to advice you. And if you have to get a repeat HIV test done, get it done after three months. please feel free to seek any clarification
