What Causes Swollen Lymph Node Under The Left Ear While Treating Lupus?

I have Lupus (SLE) and the Lymph Node directly underneath my left eat is swollen quite a bit and has been for a few weeks. In the last few days it s started to get slightly harder than it has been in the past. The Lymph Node on my right side in the same place is completely normal size. I know it s typical for one side to be inflamed when one has Lupus but I m wondering how long is long enough of it being swollen before I should go to the doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a reactive lymph node.

They are usually swollen in case of an infection.

I recommend doing a complete blood count to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication to relieve the swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
