What Causes Swollen Lump On The Lower Lip After Chewing Tobacco?
I had a white leathery rigid spot where i put my tobacco. (lower lip) i think the white spot is fading and it doesn't feel leathery anymore but i have a swollen lumpy spot around the same area that i have recently discovered. It is painless, soft, and not not discolored. Is this normal healing or do I need to take further measures?
As per your complain white leather sport at the site of tobacco placement can be due to continuous irritation and leading to excessive keratin formation causing either Frictional Keratosis or Leukoplakia..
Swollen and lumpy spot can be due to overgrowth of mucosa and soft tissue due to persistent irritation while can also be due to malignant transformation..
You should consult an Oral Physician or Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Biopsy can be done for diagnosis and can be treated accordingly..
As of now completely avoid tobacco dipping and start taking Vitamin B complex and antioxidant supplements like Lycopene..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
