What Causes Swollen Lump Behind Ears And Headache?

My husband has a swollen lump behind each ear. They have been present for atleast 6 months. They are very painful and cause him headaches. At one point one of the lumps got extremely large I aspirated it and got a lot of puss like fluid out of it. That was atleast 3 months ago. They are still there and I looked at it last night and the one I aspirated previously is now a purpleish color. He had my try aspirating it again and it looked like a mixture of blood and pus came out. Is this some kind of cyst? They have been there a really long time and he does not have insurance and will not go to a doctor.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He may have some infected sebaceous cyst, abscess, tuberculosis or other inflammatory lesion. He should go for fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy of that lump. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then he should take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
