What Causes Swollen Gums Next To Uvula?
My gums next to my uvula are swollen to the point of making contact with said uvula. I am just getting over the flu but my throat still hurts. The pharmacist recommended ibuprofen so I have taken some however they are not having enough of an effect to make myself comfortable. Should I wait a few more days or make an appointment with my personal doctor as soon as possible?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen gums next to uvula which could be due to infection in oral cavity. Need not to worry about it. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily. Take antimicrobial mouth wash rinses such as LISTERINE. Take antibiotic such as Azithromycin to prevent further infection. Visit Dentist once and get it examined and go for scaling and root planning of teeth. Drink plenty of water.
