What Causes Swollen Gums, Breathing Difficulty And Sharp Abdominal Pain?

My son just returned from a week long camp with swollen gums, some difficulty taking deep breaths and sharp abdominal pains. I have no idea what he has been eating at camp but am told that they have adhered to his gluten and dairy free diet. What could the problem be?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Gluten is gluten-sensitive patients usually leads to diarrhea, abdominal cramps, indigestion, malabsorption, etc.

It is unlikely to have difficulty breathing and swollen gums in response to gluten in the diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
