Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have raised bumps covering the majority of my arms and legs. They are raised but NOT red in color they are skin tone. The itching is so bad that several are scabbed now, I wake itching. Checked bed for bed bugs. Rewashed linens in sent free and dye free soap. I have sensitive skin. Never had something like this.
If the itching is worse at night and the bed bugs have been ruled out then you may need to consider scabies. This cause a rash with itching that is worse at night. You may want to consider a visit to your doctor to see if this is the case. If it is confirmed (by history and examination, no investigations needed) then treatment can be started.
This would involve the use of medication such as permethrin to apply to the skin along with hot washing of sheets, towels etc. The medication may need to reapplied one week later in some cases. Though treatment is used the itching can sometimes persist for a long period of time.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
