What Causes Swollen Ankles, Tenderness In The Wrist And Back Pain?
My question is for my husband. He is 46 and started having swollen ankles and tenderness is his wrists with a body ache and occasional shortness of breath about a month ago. Two weeks into this he met with his Doctor and they issued blood work to be done. His results for all his blood work came back good. Negative for lupus and diabetes also. They gave him a prescription for diclofinac which didn t work. He went back four days later with severe pain and more blood work was done with a prescription for prednisone which helped with the swelling . His blood work came back with a 1.3 hit on B19 parvo virus. It is now week 4 1/2 and the swelling of his ankles and pain is back and shortness of breath occasionally. What should we do?

* As per my clinical experience, swollen ankles, tender wrist with backache which response to steroid indicates underlying inflammatory response to some sort of immune disturbances.
* He has to be evaluated with an expert immune specialist in this regard as antibodies are affecting joint spaces and lung tissues as well, which can be part of seronegative arthritis or other relevant medical condition.
* Till for time being the approach, deep breathing exercises and YOGA will reveal him best relief with allowable mobilization and assisted physiotherapy.
