What Causes Swollen Ankles Along With Tingling Sensation In Feet?

My daughter is in Costa Rica on a mission trip helping to build a play ground. Yesterday she had swollen ankles/lower leg that was warm to the touch. The local clinic gave her medication to take for five days to reduce the swelling this morning. The swelling has subsided but she has a tingly feeling in both feet she describers like the early stage when your foot falls asleep. No more pain. She is staying off her feet. She did get a number of bug bites the day yesterday and I am sure that has had something to do with this. Any thoughts?

HI
Well come to HCM
Such swelling could be due to some insect bite or may be due to muscular sprain that might have happened unnoticed, if anti-inflammatory drug worked now the next step could be anti-biotic and crab bandage and keep the leg in elevated position, hope this information helps, take care.
