Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swollen Ankle And Foot With History Of Aortic Valve Replacement?
I have a swollen ankle and foot. One doctor told me it was a circulation problem and a dermatologist told me it s a fungus and gave me two creams to apply. I just started two days ago and see that my foot is more swollen than it was before I started applying the creams. I also had an aortic valve replacement about six years ago, with no complications.
I cqn understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. Feet swelling in your case may be due to congestive heart failure due to valvular leakage: I suggest you consult a cardiologist and get an echo done to fing out the gradient of leakage if present. You may be put on some medications including diuretics and other anti failure medications to help improve your condition.
