What Causes Swollen And Painful Knee With Fluid?

Hi. My knee suddenly became swollen, extremely, and I had to go to the hospital. They had to drain it, and the fluid was blood. I didn t injure myself or even bang it. I was away, so when I went home, which was the next day, I went to my doctor. Anyway, it s been a week, my knee is still swollen, and I m in a great deal of pain. I cannot walk without crutches. I m on coumedin. Levels are vey therapeutic. Went to orthopedic and he said to just wait it out. It doesn t seem right. Should I go see a hemotologist? This was very random. I didn t injure myself. They drained 50 cc of blood from the knee . Help! What should I do?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
it seems to be traumatic haemarthosis, needs to be drained and use knee cap 24 hrs a day for 3 weeks, if you don't wear the knee cap it is bound to fill again
