What Causes Swollen And Painful Feet After An Insect Bite?

I believe an insect bit me on the foot. My left foot swells when I m standing, walking or sitting. The swelling only goes away when I elevate my foot. The area where I felt the sting is tender. There are no puncture wounds. My foot aches whenever it swells.

Hi..Can understand your concern...As per your query about swelling and painful feet after an insect can be due to allergy and inflammation by toxins of the insect...You need not to worry and should watch if its spreading then should visit a physician and if it is localized you should take levocetrizine 10 mg tab and apply antiseptic ointment topically...It will help in slowly relieving from pain and swelling...It gets swelled while sitting or standing due to venous congestion in that area which gets relieved on elevation of leg..I hope the information helps you...Take care.
