What Causes Swelling, Pain And Redness In Right Preauricular Pit Post Surgery?

Hi, my 3 year old son had a right pre auricular pit surgery last year ( June 2016 ). Last Sunday, he was complaining of pain and tenderness from the previous surgical site. After 3 days, the area was swollen and red. He s appointment with the EENT is on July 18, 2016. What should I do? It seems the swelling is getting worse. Thank you!

Hello dear. So it is likely that he has developed some infection of that area arising from inside. A clinical examination will diagnose the same. He will require a short course of antibiotics and after that he will be alright.
