What Causes Swelling Over The Surgical Area Post Removal Of Mandibular Tori?

I had bilateral mandibular tori removal a week ago. Recovery seemed to be going great for the first few days, but now I have a rapidly swelling area directly where one of the tori was. In the past 48 hours it has grown from nothing to the size of a dime to about the size of a nickel, and is a bubble. The underside of my neck is sensitive and sore to the touch, and feels almost exactly like it does when you have the flu or a cold and your glands swell and get sore. I would assume this is either a sign of infection or possibly a blocked salivary gland. My question is this... obviously this needs to be addressed, so is it proper for me to schedule an appointment with my regular dentist, or the oral surgeon who performed the tori removal? What s the protocol here?
