What Causes Swelling On The Small Toe?

I had athletes foot on and off for a while . My pinky toe swelled pretty badly aster a few months. I treated the athletes foot with OTC ointment after going to the doctor, and it went away, but my toe is still swollen and there is a small pinhole wound in between my pinky and 4th toe I believe to be a sinus tract or tunneling wound. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Most probably it might be due to minor contusion or hairline fracture.

As the first line of management, you can apply ice packs and take analgesics like Tramadol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
