Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom is 79 with demencia. She recently had a bad fall off a ramp onto cement floor. Went to ER. Now in physical therapy and her feet are very swollen. Any idea what could be causing her feet to swell (meds, etc?). She is also struggling to walk and she walked fine before the fall. She did fracture her pelvis.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The presentation of narrated symptoms suggests that the venous return from the lower limb is compromised at some level after fall and giving rise to swelling both feet.
She should be addressed to nearest physician immediately without any delay.
Thanks.
Take care.
