What Causes Swelling Of Lingual Frenulum After Smoking?

I am not a regular smoker, however I do smoke sometimes. Every time i do, my lingual frenulum swells up and becomes very big, almost like a second tongue. If left unattended, some pus-wounds (is that what they re called?) appear on the sides of the frenulum. I ve been treating it with vitamin D pills, and they work too. But I wanna know what s wrong?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that swelling of lingual frenulum along with pus wounds that seems to be canker sores that occurs on side of frenulum after smoking seems to be most probably due to allergic reaction to Cigarette smoke and the chemical present in Cigarette smoke..

I would suggest you to avoid smoking as it will cause recurring episodes of allergic reaction..
The best way to avoid allergic reaction is to avoid smoking..

In case if you have recurring episodes of allergic reaction you can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine and gargle with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl..
Suck ice and rinse with cold water..

Hope this information helps..

Regards..
