What Causes Swelling In The Right Ankle?

Recently noticed a puffy right ankle. MDs have been pinching ankles for a while, I ve noticed, but only recently - a month or so - have I noticed this in myself. Otherwise in excellent health. 74 years, same weight as when 22. Medication for gout, BP, BP stabilized @ 130/190. What does this symptom indicate ? Thanks -

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
We are always concerned when someone has only one ankle swelling. This can indicate a blood clot in that leg. It is best that you see your doctor immediately to make sure there is no blood clot present in that leg.
There are many other causes for ankle swelling but this is the most serious and needs to be ruled out immediately
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
