What Causes Swelling In The Penis After Masturbation?

While my bf was masturbating he experienced some pain. Afterwards, now, his shaft is swollen and he had a little blood come out of the tip after ejaculating. How long will it take for the swelling to go away and go him to heal? And is there long term damage to worry about?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Swelling of the penis following masturbation could have been caused due to physical and mechanical forces during the act.
He needs to do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area by using mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. Apply Neomycin with Hydrocortisone cream over it after drying.
3. Take Tablet. Ibuprofen twice daily after food.
4. Wear loose fitting undergarments to avoid friction.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the swelling reduces completely.
Gradually, in about a week time, he should be back to normal.
