What Causes Swelling In The Neck?

Hi, My husband had a FNAC done for his neck swelling. The report states suggestive of tuberculous pathology. He does not have any of the symptoms like weight loss, fever etc. Is there any other test to confirm he has lymph nodes tb? Also, for latent tb, would he need to undergo treatment for 6 months? Our baby of 1 year ( vaccinated for BCG) was in close contact with him. Is there a chance of lymph nodes tb spreading to me or baby?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us.

I would advise you to go for MAntoux Test. This will reveal the condition.
Your baby is at less risk to develop TB. But since Kids have low immunity, so there is few chances to adapt TB.

I hope this is helpful

Thanks
Dr. Tripat Mehta
