General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Foot and leg swelling may have many causes:

As you mentioned an insect bite, any venous insufficiency, lymphedema, vein thrombosis, an infection, or simply ankle injury.

To have the right diagnosis have a doctor examination so the situation gets resolved. Have rest as much as you can ease the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
