What Causes Swelling In The Left Armpit?

I was vaccinated for shingles two weeks ago. I have five small pus pocket dots on my body in various places. I also have swelling in my left armpit that is slightly tender. I also have red irritable eyes that are not typical Pink Eye, but I am treating as if they are Pink Eye. I am a Teacher and a Grand Father. Are these symptoms related to the Shingles vaccine and could I be contagious? Thank you.

Hello,

Yes, shingles can be contagious. Since you say, you had the vaccination and your armpit is swollen which all the features of varicella infection.

If the vaccine has not been treated properly, then some storage problems would have caused you this mild kind of symptoms which are comparatively lesser than the infection itself.

So, taking a vaccine is good but you need to take antiviral medication for it to subside. If you do not take any medication also varicella is found to go without any treatment in many people. Just apply any antiviral creams for rashes also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
